Tooth Bonding & Veneers

Dental veneers and tooth bonding can address various dental cosmetic concerns to improve the look of your smile. At Sterling Virginia Smiles, we enjoy transforming smiles to boost our patients’ dental health and their confidence.

Dental Veneers in Sterling

Dental veneers are thin, custom-made “shells” typically made of porcelain, composite resin or ceramic designed to cover the front surface of a tooth to improve the appearance and create uniformity across several teeth, if desired. The veneer process involves several steps, including a consultation with our doctors to assess your needs and discuss your goals. If you elect  veneer treatment, Drs. Hubbard, Keynton Sill or Mitnick will prepare your teeth by removing a small amount of the tooth’s surface so that the shell fits over your tooth properly. An Itero Scan will be taken and sent to the dental lab to create custom veneers to match the desired shape, size, and shade to match your natural teeth.

In the short run, we may provide temporary veneers while your permanent ones are being made. Once we receive your final veneers, we will bond them to your teeth using a strong adhesive and a special light to harden the adhesive. Veneers are a long-lasting and minimally invasive  way to enhance your smile.

Tooth Bonding  in Sterling

Tooth bonding is another cosmetic dental procedure where your Sterling dentist can address  a range of esthetic concerns, such as chipped, misshapen, discolored, or superficially cracked teeth. It involves roughening the tooth’s surface, applying a bonding agent and then applying resin composite to sculpt the tooth as needed. The resin is hardened with a special light and then your tooth is polished to match your natural surrounding teeth. This procedure is a quick and cost-effective way to improve the look of your smile.
