Tooth Extraction

Tooth extraction may unfortunately be required for some dental issues. For example, wisdom teeth can often pose dental challenges for our patients due to their irregular growth patterns or limited space in the mouth. Additionally, prolonged neglect of dental care can result in severe tooth decay, leaving no other option but tooth extraction.

During your visit to our dental office in Sterling, Drs. Hubbard, Keynton Sill, or Mitnick will conduct a comprehensive assessment of your dental needs to determine if tooth extraction is required. In situations involving wisdom teeth, their removal may be recommended as a preventative measure to avert potential complications that could adversely impact your other teeth. They will use both a visual examination and use digital X-rays, including Cone Beam CT to evaluate your needs.

Tooth extraction is sometimes required in young children to prepare for orthodontic treatment. Regardless of the reason for extraction, your dentists at Sterling Virginia Smiles will help explain the process and discuss options for tooth replacement in order to minimize or eliminate the appearance of missing teeth. Our commitment to your physical and emotional comfort creates a seamless and predictable transition when parting ways with your affected teeth.
